Jeannie Heilman Richardson’s love for her children and her passion for art inspired her to start Me Art. After having her first son, she couldn’t find a unique wall hanging to decorate the nursery. Everything looked the same. Everything was so impersonal.
She wanted something fun. Something original. Something that would capture the personality of her baby. So, she created something herself. Me Art was born.
When people saw it, they loved it. Her friends wanted one. She created several as gifts. Friends of friends started calling and asking Jeannie to create one for them. She loved making them. It was her way of letting moms, grandparents and friends experience the joy she got from Me Art. As Me Art grew and grew and grew, she got customers involved in the process. She started letting them create a style. She let them pick the colors. She let them be the artist. That way, their Me Art would be even more personal. Now everyone can create a truly original Me Art. Everyone can have just the right piece of art for their home. And everyone can experience the love and joy that Me Art brings.
Jeannie lives in Chicago with her husband and three boys. In her former life she was a Creative Director at a well-renowned advertising agency. Me Art is her creative outlet. It lets her dabble in the two things she loves most-- the wonder of children and the creation of something special.
We donate a portion of our profits to schools and programs that enrich children through the arts.
We believe that exposing children to the arts inspires creativity and imagination, a benefit that will stay with them throughout their lives. Having art in your home that children can relate to can foster an even greater interest in art and can help them see themselves in a creative light.
Imagine, create and display your Me Art with the help of your kids. And try to engage them in some type of activity everyday that will spark their creativity.
